Judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara alongside host Terry Crews have already handed out their individual golden buzzers, sending five acts straight through to the live shows.

However, after watching Chapel Hart auditions, the judges and Crews banded together to award a sixth golden buzzer this year, sending Chapel Hart through to the live shows.

This is the first time in America’s Got Talent that six golden buzzers have been awarded and one thing is for sure, Chapel Hart are an act that will be hard to forget.

Newsweek has everything you need to know about Chapel Hart below.

Who Are Chapel Hart?

Chapel Hart are an American country music trio from Poplarville, Mississippi made up of sisters Danica Hart and Devynn Hart and their cousin, Trea Swindle.

The group got together in 2014 by busking in the streets and bars of New Orleans, Louisiana, and were soon discovered by record producer Jeff Glixman.

Chapel Hart are no stranger to the stage and spotlight, having released two studio albums, “Out of the Mud” (2019) and “The Girls Are Back In Town” (2021), as well as five singles during their career.

As detailed on their official website, Chapel Hart were inducted into the Country Music Television’s Next Women of Country, an institution that supports female country artists.

They also received nominations at the British Country Music Awards including “Group of the Year” and “Album of the Year” for their 2021 studio album, “The Girls Are Back In Town.”

For their America’s Got Talent audition, Chapel Hart performed an original song, titled “You Can Have Him, Jolene” an ode to country legend Dolly Parton and her hit song “Jolene.”

Singer Danica Hart explained their song choice to the judges ahead of their audition, stating: “We were so inspired by the song ‘Jolene,’ and we just love the storyline. And we figured, though, from 1973 to 2022, we could not still be fighting over the same man.

“So we decided to tell her, ‘You can just have him, Jolene.’”

They also opened up about their struggles to find a place for themselves in the world of country music.

Chapel Hart shared with the judges: “We’ve been trying to break into Nashville for the last couple of years, but it’s been kind of hard. Country music doesn’t look like us.”

When asked where they see themselves five years if they succeed on America’s Got Talent, Chapel Hart member Trea Swindle joked: “world domination.”

After their performance, Chapel Hart had seriously impressed the judges and studio audience, who were chanting for the judges to press the golden buzzer.

Cowell said: “Trust me, I needed you today. I mean, that was fantastic! I love you. And I loved the choreography going on around you. I mean, it was just brilliant.”

Klum went on to describe the trio’s joy as “infectious” with Vergara adding: “You guys look like you’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’m so proud of you guys.”

Mandel added: “First of all, I believe you broke down the door. I love song, I love the energy, I love the look. You say Country music doesn’t look like you, that is your win because you are going to be the original.”

With the judges all agreeing if they had a golden buzzer, they would send Chapel Hart through to the final, they called out host Terry Crews to join them at the judge’s table.

Then, in a game-changing decision, the judges and Crews leaned forward and pressed the golden buzzer, sending Chapel Hart through to the live shows.

America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays on NBC at 8 p.m. ET.
