After missing the thresholds set by the Democratic National Committee for January’s debate in Iowa, entrepreneur Andrew Yang will return to the stage in New Hampshire. Joining him will be former Vice President Joe Biden, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg and billionaire Tom Steyer.
Here is some information about the moderators for the New Hampshire debate, which takes place five days before the state’s presidential primary, which is the first scheduled primary of the year.
George Stephanopoulos
Stephanopoulos anchors both ABC’s long-running program Good Morning America and the Sunday morning news show This Week. Before beginning his broadcasting career, Stephanopoulos served as Senior Adviser to the President for Policy and Strategy during the Clinton administration.
Since joining ABC News, Stephanopoulos has won three Emmy awards, three Edward R. Murrow awards and two Walter Cronkite awards.
Stephanopoulos holds a master’s degree in theology from Balliol College at Oxford University in England. He also graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
David Muir
Muir is currently the anchor and managing editor of World News Tonight and the co-anchor of ABC’s news program, 20/20. Muir is noted for his interviews, including conversations with President Donald Trump, Pope Francis and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Muir also served as a moderator during both Republican and Democratic Presidential primary debates during the 2016 campaign.
Linsey Davis
Davis has been a correspondent for ABC News since 2007. She was also a moderator for the September 2019 Democratic debate in Texas.
Davis holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Virginia and a Master of Arts degree in communications from New York University. The World is Awake, a book for children Davis wrote, hit the bestseller charts in February 2019.
Adam Sexton
Sexton joined ABC affiliate WMUR in 2007. He became the station’s political director in 2018 after becoming part of their political team in 2015. A graduate of Syracuse University, Sexton holds degrees in broadcast journalism, political science and history.
Monica Hernandez
Hernandez serves a reporter and anchor for WMUR’s evening newscasts, joining the news team in 2018. Previously a reporter in Dallas, Texas, Hernandez was nominated for an Emmy for her news stories about the homeless community. She attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.
