The Captain America star commented on a recent Instagram post pretty quickly after Baptista posted it, leaving many to speculate that she may be the woman who has captured the attention of People’s 2022 Sexiest Man Alive.

Baptista, 25, is a Portuguese actor, who first began her acting career in Portugal, starring in multiple Portuguese shows and films such as A Impostora, Filha da Lei, A Criação, and Jogo Duplo. Since 2020, she has starred in the English Netflix series, Warrior Nun, and has been promoting her new film, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.

People online became convinced that Evans and Baptista were together following a post in 2021, around the time that Baptista reportedly began following Evans and several members of his family on social media.

While nothing has been confirmed, a post from Halloween made fans speculate once again, after Evans posted a photo of two carved pumpkins with the caption, “Happy Halloween!”

The seemingly innocent pumpkin photo was later found to be used as the profile picture for the alleged account of Baptista’s mother on Instagram, a fan on Twitter pointed out.

With the supposed evidence piling up, it’s no wonder that a simple comment of a clapping emoji and a melting smiley face underneath Baptista’s post about Mrs. Harris in Paris drove fans wild.

“Chris Evans and Alba have simply given up trying to be chill at this point. My boy liking and commenting on her latest photo (which is in Portuguese) less than 20 min after she posted it,” one user on Twitter wrote.

“The relationship of Chris Evans and Alba Baptista is still unconfirmed. But the wedding is coming soon…” another user joked.

Another mentioned the age difference between the two, a little less enthusiastic than others: “But the age gap between Chris Evans (41) and Alba Baptista (25) still weirds me out a whole f****** lot,” the Twitter user wrote.

Whether or not the pair are together is a mystery, but the Knives Out actor has a lot on his plate in the meantime. With upcoming films like Pain Hustlers and Red One in the works, as well as accepting responsibility for his new title as Sexiest Man Alive, it’s a lot to juggle.

Paul Rudd passed the torch to Evans for Sexiest Man on Monday, and the Avengers star told People, “My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”
