The game show, which originally aired on ABC from 2001 to 2008, returned for its rebooted edition on October 7.
Over the past two weeks, viewers have watched 12 contestants take part in the high-stakes competition series.
The contestants have worked together to complete challenges to add money to a pot that only one of them will take home at the end of the competition.
Among the players has been one person who has secretly been designated in the role of “the mole.” The mole has been tasked with sabotaging the group’s money-making efforts the whole time.
Throughout the episodes, players—and viewers at home—have attempted to guess who the mole might be and in the end only three contestants remained in the season finale.
The mole has finally been revealed and Newsweek has everything you need to know about who was sabotaging the game the whole time.
This story contains spoilers for the season finale of The Mole.
Who Is the Mole?
Only three contestants were left in the running in The Mole season finale; Will Richardson, Joi Schweitzer and Kesi Neblett.
The final three contestants were given one last mission by host Alex Wagner and headed out to an abandoned fort on Bare Island, Australia, for the last challenge.
The trio had to work as a team to find canisters hidden across the fort while avoiding automatic drones that had been put in place to sabotage them.
The players were able to secure $5,000, meaning the final prize pot ended up totaling $101,500.
All the previous contestants from the season of The Mole were then brought back to witness the reveal of the mole’s identity.
Will, Joi and Kesi then secretly submitted their final guesses as to who the mole really was.
Kesi was then revealed to be the culprit, which only one of the finalists guessed correctly.
Despite having a feeling that Kesi was the mole, Joi went against her gut and chose Will. Will, 29, chose Kesi, meaning he got to take home the entire prize pot.
Kesi’s co-stars look visibly shocked at the reveal that she was the mole, but she revealed that she had a feeling Will had been on to her for a while.
All the contestants were then shown footage of how Kesi had sabotaged each challenge, including the moment when Kesi, 27, realised that Will was suspicious of her.
She then revealed the various ways in which she tried to throw Will off the scent but admitted that, ultimately, none of them worked.
Newsweek has contacted Netflix for comment.
